What Lekh processes
When you request a transcript, the video ID and selected caption language are sent to this website’s server. The server may use Supadata to retrieve the public transcript and returns the result to your browser.
Temporary transcript cache
To reduce API usage and make repeated requests faster, a fetched public transcript may be cached on this website’s server for up to seven days. The cache is keyed by video and language and is not linked to an account or profile.
What is not stored in an account database
- Lekh does not require an account or profile.
- Lekh does not create a database record of your transcript.
- Imported SRT and VTT files are read in your browser and are not uploaded by the import feature.
- Copied and downloaded transcript text stays under your control.
Standard hosting logs
Like most websites, the hosting provider may keep standard technical access logs. These can include an IP address, browser information, request time, requested URL and error details. These logs are used for security, reliability and troubleshooting and are governed by the hosting provider’s settings and retention rules.
Third-party services
Lekh connects to Supadata and YouTube to retrieve public transcript information, thumbnails and playable media where available. Your use of these services is also subject to their respective terms and privacy practices.
Cookies and analytics
This version of Lekh does not set advertising cookies and does not include third-party advertising or behavioural analytics scripts.
Your choices
You can use an imported subtitle file without entering a YouTube URL. You can also close the page at any time; Lekh does not require you to delete an account because it does not create one.
Updates
This policy was last updated on 27 July 2026. If the product later adds analytics, accounts or other data features, this page should be updated before those features go live.
